We are proud of our Queen and Country in this Platinum Jubilee Year. We are also totally committed to keeping Romford as a special place to live and Havering a ‘town and country borough’!
Our pledge to you, at the start of 2022, is to work throughout the year to look after our community and cherish the unique character of our borough. We may be close to London, but we are not an inner city area and do not believe we should become one. Romford is a traditional English Market Town in the historic County of Essex, with close connections to the City of London… and a truly great place in which we are proud to live!
Havering has open spaces, green belt and parks that are precious - whilst we will build much needed homes for locals, we won’t let Romford become a concrete jungle;
Havering has lower crime than most parts of London and we want to keep it that way! Havering has some of the best schools and leisure centres for miles around; Conservative led Havering Council delivers good, efficient public services, but we know we have to work to improve them even more; and Havering upholds our proud British traditions, in celebrating St. George’s Day, Armed Forces Day and we fly the Union Jack from our Town Hall 365 days of the year! We love what our town and borough represents, which is welcoming to all and remains a happy and united community.
