On Saturday 1st September 2012, the Romford Conservative Policy Forum held it's first meeting at our headquarters in Western Road, Romford.
Our topic was Britain and the E.U.: Time for a new relationship?
We heard from our special guest speakers Professor Stephen Haseler and Geoffrey Van Orden M.E.P.
The Conservative Policy Forum is a body that allows every member of the Conservative Party up and down the country to have a say on Conservative policy. The structure means that what's discussed at the Romford branch will be fed back to the National Policy Forum and right up to Whitehall!
The Conservative Policy Forum looks to the challenges Britain will face as we move forward to 2015, 2020 and beyond. Our relationship with the European Union is one of the most pressing issues facing the Government and the country so it is fitting that our first meeting focused on that very important issue and the shape our relationship should take in the future.
Our next meeting will be in November and we will be discussing immigration.
