Councillor Damian White, the Leader of Havering Council, said:
“This is a tragic incident which will rightly appal everyone in our borough.
"We have offered support including bereavement counselling and psychological support to local schools and voluntary organisations.
“Anyone who saw or heard anything on the night of the attack, or who has any information that might help the police investigation, needs to get in touch with the police immediately.
“Just one piece of information could be crucial in finding Jodie’s killer.
