Damian White, Leader of Havering Council, has announced that Havering Council is to directly pay for additional police officers to support the local Police Force for the first time.
The extra police officers will only be able to be deployed within our Borough, except when there is a major emergency and support is needed elsewhere.
The new officers will increase the overall strength of the Borough’s force, meaning that there will be more Officers supporting Havering as a result.
Damian said: “This is great news for Romford, Hornchurch, Harold Hill, Rainham, Upminster and all of Havering, and will mean more bobbies on the beat in our local community. Many residents have raised local policing as a concern and we strongly believe that our police force needs to be visible and accessible to the people it serves.”
