The inaugural St Francis Hospice Sunflower Picnic event brought hundreds of local people together in support of the charity which means so much to the area.
Held at Raphael Park, the invited guests were all those who had previously donated money to the hospice in memory of a departed loved one. Each were able to dedicate a Sunflower and these were then displayed during the festivities.
In all 250 people participated in the event, accompanied by music from the bandstand by the Romford Royal British Legion Band & Corps of Drums and local singers.
The day ended with the spectacular release of 50 doves, highlighting the role that St Francis Hospice plays in the spreading of peace and love throughout the area.
