On Thursday 22nd May the nation went to the polls at the Local and European Parliamentary Election.
With all indications that the Conservative Party faced a fierce challenge from both the Labour Party and from UKIP across the country, many local Conservative Associations were braced for a difficult night.
This was not so for Romford Conservatives!
Having been preparing for the election since June 2013, Romford Conservative Association identified that the key to securing victory in May 2014 was to be found in the active and constant engagement with the residents of Romford.
For ten months Romford's TEAM 21 - named so because of the twenty 21 council seats which fall within the electoral boundary of the Romford Constituency- has been campaigning tirelessly: delivering newsletters, door-knocking and taking up local issues of concern and dealing with them.
Well-planned and highy organised, the election result speaks for the success of this campaign strategy: - 20 of the 21 seats across Romford returned a Conservative - bucking the national trend.
Such a result clearly demonstrates that when a campaign strategy is properly planned and organised, when the candidates are sufficiently motivated and determined to deliver for the residents and when all involved pull together - victory can be delivered for the Conservative Party no matter the unfavourable political environment.
GO TEAM 21!
